Benji is the sweetest, most adorable, goofy black pittie. He is approximately 4 years old, a 67ish-pound pit bull who was saved from a high-kill shelter in California just in the nick of time!

Benji absolutely loves people, is easy to get along with and very well-mannered. He is house and crate trained and would thrive in a home with no other animals.

Benji LOVES to play fetch, go on short walks, enjoys toys of all kinds, and LOVES to cuddle. He has such an amazing personality that after spending some time with him you cannot help but fall in love.

Benji would love a family to give him a warm loving home where he can enjoy play time and cuddles with his humans or one amazing human to call his. Benji is currently loving life in a foster home while he waits for his forever home.

When Benji was at the shelter, he had surgery for a necrotic femoral head and has since recovered. Although he is younger, Benji will need to remain on a pain management plan for his arthritis, which has been well-managed with carprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Paloma is a happy girl here in her favorite spot at her foster home, keeping track of the neighborhood with the steadfast assist of her favorite toys in the window!

This beautiful approximately 10-year-old girl still has the heart (and energy!) of a puppy. She loves squeaky toys, chasing squirrels, and going on walks—but she’s just as happy to curl up beside you for a cozy nap on the couch.

She’s a people-loving shadow dog who just wants to be by your side, whether it’s playtime, training time, or relaxation time. She’s potty trained, knows her basic commands, and adores showing off her tricks—she’s a fast learner who thrives on praise and attention.

Meet Fred & Ned — a bonded father-and-son duo!

Fred and Ned were rescued together from the Moreno Valley shelter and are now looking for a forever home where they can stay together.

These two are a goofy, loving pair of boys who absolutely adore their people. They are loyal, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. They also have plenty of energy and can be quite barky, so they’ll do best with a family who appreciates their enthusiasm and doesn’t mind a little extra commentary from the boys.

Both Fred and Ned are healthy and ready for their next chapter. Fred is estimated to be around 4 years old, while Ned is estimated to be between 2–4 years old.

As for their breed mix? Your guess is as good as ours! Whatever their little mix-burrito may be, they sure are adorable.

Fred & Ned are bonded and are looking for a home together. If you’re ready for double the goofy, double the loyalty, and double the love, these boys may be your perfect pair.

Toby has truly blossomed into a happy, eager-to-please companion. With his regal demeanor and loving personality, Toby is a smart and cuddly dog who shows deep respect for his caregivers. Now, he’s ready to settle into his well-earned retirement home. While we're unsure how he would do with small dogs or cats, he does well with large, calm dogs. Slow introductions are required. Toby has been fully vetted, including a comprehensive wellness exam with bloodwork, which has shown him to be a healthy senior dog. Our best guess is that Toby is between 8 and 10 years old.

HADDIE is approximately one year old and very much still a puppy! She is full of energy, sweet as can be, and looking for an active family who will include her in their adventures while also keeping her safe.

HADDIE is still learning basic training and will do best with a confident, consistent person who can give her the structure she needs to grow into the amazing dog we know she can be.

Shortly after joining Green Heart Rescue, HADDIE broke her leg after jumping out of a vehicle. That experience made one thing especially clear: helping this adventurous girl learn basic commands, boundaries, and safe manners is just as important as giving her plenty of appropriate activity and enrichment.

HADDIE has a lot of puppy energy and a lot of love to give. She’s looking for someone ready to continue her training, keep her busy, take her on adventures, and help her become the best version of herself.

She’s silly, affectionate, and potty trained—and she LOVES crinkle toys, soft-toy demolition, and watching squirrels like it’s the best show on earth. 🐿️✨

She’ll happily take almost any treat… except apples. Absolutely not. 🍎🚫😆

She needs slow intros with other dogs (small dogs aren’t her fave), and she’s managing a grade 5 heart murmur and some skin issues. But her heart? Pure gold.

“Finny” came to Green Heart Rescue as a stray from Moreno Valley, California. We don't know much about his past, but it's obvious he has known what it means to be a loved companion. We think he may be a Pug mix and are waiting on his Embark DNA results to discover exactly what perfect formula made this little guy.

At about 23 pounds, Finny is a perfect go-anywhere size. He has done well with dogs he's met, but his greatest gift is the connection he makes with people. He makes eye contact, checks in constantly, and looks to his person for reassurance. He's eager to please, extremely food motivated, and a lightning-fast learner.

Don't let his size fool you — this guy was made for speed! Finny loves hiking, fetch, and riding in the car. In appropriate areas he has been remarkably responsive off-leash, continually checking in throughout the adventure. He sleeps well in a crate, respects fence boundaries, and is learning house manners quickly.

Finny has been gentle while learning that human hands aren't toys for mouthing, and occasional thoughts about marking indoors are easily redirected with a verbal reminder. We suspect he may be younger than the shelter's estimate. Because he showed considerable intensity when introduced to a large, dog-savvy cat, a cat-free home is recommended.

We rescued Toby, aka "Toby Tyler", from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in July 2026 (estimated to be 7 months old at the time). After fully recovering from kennel cough and continuing to show improvement in his eye, he is now officially ready to find his forever home!
